I’ve been rambling on to a lot of people lately about our recent little kitchen face lift. Today I finished the last of the work that I’m going to be doing by caulking the back splash and installing the panel that goes behind the sink and dishwasher.
Once the electrician gets back from vacation we will have the last two outlets in the back splash hooked up. He explained how I could do it myself, but he started going on about stuff like ground fault interrupt and which outlets are on which circuits. My eyes glazed over a bit because anything more complicated than black wire, white wire, ground wire is beyond my ability as a UPS driver.
We also are having a drywall guy come over and fix up a few holes (which is a long story in itself: We hired someone to work on our shower and now it is leaking into the kitchen. Of course when I mean “long” I mean in my emotional investment in the situation and not the number of words it takes to convey the essential details.) so it will look all nice and pretty.
So here are a couple of pictures of the kitchen. Decide for yourself which one is “before” and which one is “after.” I’m not sure why the second picture looks like a fleet of small alien orbs are flying in formation in my house– the way my eyes see it doesn’t make it seem that way.
